Our right to the democratic process is being bypassed!
Attention Americans and ex-smokers who are vaping flavored nicotine eliquid because it is 95% less harmful than combustible tobacco: the democratic process has been bypassed in at least two states and very possibly soon on a national level. Executive orders that totally bypassed the democratic process are active now in Michigan and New York. New Jersey is planning an all-out ban on vaping, including hardware, and it seems Illinois is right behind.
I am really scared and angry that my right to a harm-reduction product is being taken away in the name of saving the children. No one has died in the 13+ years nicotine vaping has been around, yet this is a health crisis? The latest data I have from Casaa.org and expert guests on Regulator Watch is less than 3% of youths are regularly vaping nicotine eliquid. This is certainly not acceptable. The capital and states need to devote resources to lower this, including enforcing current laws on the books. It is very important to note that deadly smoking is the lowest ever recorded for adults and youth.
So are our rights being taken away to protect the kids or is it to protect the cash flow to states and big business? Interesting facts:
- 13,000 youth suicides/year and approx. 8,000 youth alcohol-related deaths/year in the U.S., but I have yet to see an executive order to protect this from happening to other children.
- New York and Michigan both received over a BILLION dollars last year in tobacco settlement money, but that is rapidly decreasing because of flavored nicotine vaping.
- Less smokers = less cancer and other combustible tobacco-related illnesses, so big pharma and big healthcare profits are down. Sales of Chantix are down a billion/year from previous years.
- Bloomberg and lobbyist money is up for grabs for those politicians that “play ball.”
Please don’t let your state, county, city, town be the next to restrict your rights and / or ban flavored nicotine e-liquid / vaping hardware. Let your reps know how vaping has positively affected your life by using THIS LINK as well as the links below:
