Quesitos eJuice Full Review – A Salsa in Your Mouth

Quesitos eJuice Full Review – A Salsa in Your Mouth

Disclosure: The Quesitos eJuice line was sent to me without purchase from E&B for the purposes of review. For a limited time, you can use coupon code “ENBUSA30” to get 30% off your order (expires 11/15/20). I will endeavor to provide a fair, unbiased, and comprehensive review of the products described below, while also giving my personal thoughts and opinions. All products described in the review below contain nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive chemical.

Dancing Tastebuds

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of reviewing the Sabores del Encanto line of eJuices from E&B, made in collaboration with vaping YouTuber FOWTB. One of the flavors in that line, which turned out to be one of the most popular, was Canita de Queso, which represented the popular Puerto Rican dessert Quesito.

Well now, E&B has created another line with FOWTB, based on that same eJuice but with the addition of four different fresh, ripe fruits; Guava, Mango, Pineapple, and Strawberry. Are they just as good or better than the OG? Keep reading to find out.

Quesitos eJuice – The Rundown

It is worthwhile to note that all four of the eJuices in this line have the same base flavoring. Flaky puff pastry is filled with sweetened, vanilla-scented cream cheese, baked, and glazed with sweet, sugary icing. The only difference comes in the fruit preserves that are added to each. And I use that term deliberately; the four fruit flavors in Quesitos eJuice taste more like they’re jams or preserves than the actual fruit. In any case, I’ll be going into detail about the different fruit flavors rather than the whole flavor profile. If you’re interested in how the base eJuice tastes, refer back to the Canita de Queso portion of my Sabores del Encanto review.

Mango Quesitos

Mango Quesitos

If there’s one flavor that E&B has absolutely locked down, it’s mango. With no less than eight mango eJuices in their lineup of products, It would be hard to argue that they know just the right way to treat this magnificent fruit. And Mango Quesitos is no exception.

[Tasting Notes]

Cracking open a fresh bottle of Mango Quesitos eJuice and taking a whiff of the elixir inside, you’d be forgiven if you thought you’d opened a bottle of mango nectar. The scent is unmistakably that of the fruit. Sweet with a teasing tartness, it makes you long for a bowlful of the genuine article. That notion is thrown on its head immediately with a finger taste.

A dab on the tongue is 95% pastry. Arguably, you can’t even taste the mango. It was sort of a shock to me when I first tried it, especially after smelling the fragrance. If you do taste it more than once, you can detect a slight hint of the mango on the front of your tongue. But compared to the aroma, it’s night and day. But that being said, how does it taste when you vape it?

Well clearly, it tastes like both pastry and fruit. That’s the whole idea, isn’t it? The mango plays nicely with the pastry and glaze. As a bit of a connoisseur of mango eJuices, what stands out to me is the lack of acidity that you get in the actual fruit’s flesh. It’s not necessarily a puckeringly sour flavor that’s absent, but a certain brightness that is lacking. If the end goal was to make it taste more like mango preserves, they nailed it.

[Conclusion]

To paraphrase an old quote, “I’ve never met a mango eJuice I didn’t like.” And this one is no exception. Mango Quesitos is perfectly lovely. It’s a nice alternative to the typical mango-with-other-fruits eJuices that you see everywhere. It does conjure up ideas of blending with other flavors; I’d love to taste a mango chutney eJuice, heavy with warm, aromatic spices. But that’s just my imagination talking. If you like mango eJuices in general, or want a few baked goods with your fruit, you wouldn’t go wrong with Mango Quesitos eJuice.

Pineapple Quesitos

Pineapple Quesitos

Pineapple is a tricky flavor to get right. It’s an outstandingly sweet fruit, for sure, but it’s also got a lot of acidity when it’s raw. Manufacturers of eJuice have long struggled to make any liquid strongly tart or sour, as acidity doesn’t translate well via the vaporization process. So you’ll often find flavors that should be lip-smacking, sweeter than you expect. This is also the case with Quesitos Pineapple, but that’s not a bad thing. Read on to find out why.

[Tasting Notes]

Straight out of the bottle, the juice smells like a pineapple hard candy. Or perhaps, like dried pineapple. Tasting it is more of the same. It’s inoffensive; no harsh or chemical aftertastes. You get a very slight hint of the pastry/icing beneath the pineapple.

Some of you have possibly sampled pineapple preserves. Smucker’s makes the most widespread version. Or you might’ve had pineapple upside-down cake before. If you’ve tried either, you know that when the pineapple is cooked, it completely kills the tartness of the raw fruit. This is very much the same situation when you vape Quesitos Pineapple.

You get a pleasant, sweet mouthful of the pineapple on the inhale. The fruit flavor is so strong, in fact, that you only really get the pastry taste as you’re exhaling. What’s more, the aftertaste is nothing but pineapple. I’d dare say that if you didn’t tell me there were pastry and icing in the mix, I would just assume it’s a straight pineapple candy eJuice.

[Conclusion]

While I’ve gone on at length about the similarities of the four flavors in the Quesitos eJuice line, there are subtle differences. And the difference most evident in the pineapple variant is just how much stronger the fruit flavor is, in relation to the other three. The others all have a much more nuanced balance between the fruit and the pastry. This one is Pineapple with a capital P. It’s only after swapping back and forth between all four that I was able to pick up the bakery notes in this bottle. And even then, only on the back end.

I will say this, as an aside; I much prefer this juice to Vapetasia’s Pineapple Express. That one is just hideously cloying and artificial tasting to me. If you had a bad experience with straight pineapple eJuices before, try to find a way to sample this one. It might be a redemptive experience.

Guava Quesitos

Guava Quesitos

Okay, so, this one I really have to question its inclusion. In the original Sabores del Encanto line, there was already an eJuice with this exact flavor profile, guava with puff pastry and glaze. Nevertheless, the original juice was tasty. And I happen to still have a bottle. So let’s compare the two, shall we?

[Tasting Notes]

Straight out of the bottle, the first thing you get is the aroma of guava. It’s a singular type of scent. Once you’ve smelled it, you’ll never forget it. Tasting it, you get about a 60/40 blend of the fruit to the pastry and glaze. That puts it at about the third strongest of the four fruit flavors, behind Pineapple and Strawberry, but behind Mango. Comparing it to the similar flavor from the original line, Quesitos Guava has a much stronger guava scent and flavor.

Vaping the juice, you’re immediately struck with the strength of the fruit. In comparison to the original, they’ve at least doubled the guava flavor all around. As a result of this, you do taste less of the pastry and icing. I suppose it comes down to personal preference. Whether you want to taste more of the fruit or more of the baked good.

[Conclusion]

If you’ve ever had the opportunity to sample guava paste from a Latin market, you’d know how incredibly sweet and delicious it is. It matches well with cheese and is frequently used in pastries. If you’re into that, you’re going to love Guava Quesitos eJuice. If you prefer your guava to be a bit more muted, or you’re interested in trying it but prefer pastry flavored eJuices, Pastelillos de Guyaba from the Sabores del Encanto line is more your speed.

Strawberry Quesitos

Strawberry Quesitos

When I’m writing these reviews, I often generally don’t save the best for last. But somehow, here we are. Quesitos Strawberry is my favorite of the bunch, and what’s more, I feel like it could give Jam Monster a run for its money. Read on.

[Tasting Notes]

The scent out of the bottle is straight strawberry jam. Not a hint of pastry, dough, icing, or anything. It’s a freshly opened jar of Smucker’s. Tasting it, you get the glaze for sure, but again, no pastry. This is some strong fruit filling.

You know how Jam Monster claims to be a strawberry jam with buttered toast, but somehow the butter and toast are completely lost due to the overpowering sweetness of the strawberry? Not so here. On the inhale and exhale both, you get a balanced, nuanced hit of fruit with icing on top of flaky puff pastry. Nothing that is supposed to be there is missing or weak. You get a full taste from beginning to end of all three major flavors. It’s good.

[Conclusion]

In all the time I’ve been doing juice reviews for this site, I’ve only come close to running out of the samples I’ve been sent one other time, until now. The first time was with the Boba line from Jazzy Boba. The second time is now. I’ve had to ration myself on this bottle of Strawberry Quesitos eJuice for the past week to make sure I’d have some left to taste while writing this review. If that doesn’t tell you something about how much I like it, I don’t know what would. Top shelf juice from E&B.

Quesitos eJuice – Closing Thoughts

If you’re familiar with the triangular turnovers they sell at bakeries, filled with fruit and covered in glaze, then you have a pretty good idea of how these eJuices are going to taste. Whatever inspiration these sprang from, whether some far-flung Puerto Rican bakery treats or the prepackaged baked goods at the local Walmart, E&B hit a pretty solid home run with this line.

I was skeptical at first, as I usually am. I thought they had said everything they needed to say with the original Sabores del Encanto line. But after nearly a month with these juices in my daily rotation, I can say that they’ve added four new gems to their crown. I always look forward to the new product lines that E&B puts out, and while I’m not always knocked on my butt by them, this time I was.

The Quesitos eJuice line is manufactured by E&B, and comes in two sizes (60 or 100 milliliters), in 0, 3, 6, 12, 18, or 24 milligrams of freebase nicotine.

Lukas

Having started vaping as a way to stop using cigarettes, Lukas metamorphosed into a regular vape enthusiast over the past seven years. Utilizing his extensive knowledge and problem-solving skills as a regular at his local vape shop, it only made sense to parley that, along with his writing skills, into making vape juice reviews. While conspicuously absent from social media, the 35-year-old former chef now uses his free time by making spectacular home-cooked meals, reading voraciously, and dabbling in multiplayer computer games. Oh yeah, and he vapes too.
