A Not-So-Final Farewell from Jeremy V.

I figured I’d write a post like this one day, but I’m reluctant to accept that that day is finally here.  It’s hard to find the appropriate words…if such a thing exists.  Let’s just get the announcement out of the way first.  Starting this week, I will be taking a step back from the site.  I’ve accepted a new job in a different industry and there just isn’t enough time to continue working for VAPE.DEALS to the extent that I have over the past 5 years.

The main purpose of this post is to prepare you for some minor changes to the content.  Don’t worry, this site is (and always will be) committed to bringing you the best online vape deals every day.  The only real change is that I won’t be writing the majority of the content.  So, you’ll probably notice some differences in the writing style and structure, but that’s about it.  I’ll still be working behind the scenes, mainly focusing on things like holiday lists, reviews, and articles (and occasional deal posts).

Let’s move on to the sentimental part (for anyone interested)

This site means the world to me.  I stumbled upon VAPE.DEALS during my first year off cigarettes.  While the content itself did not compel me to quit smoking, it did help me stay the course.  This is where I found the hobbyist side of vaping, a much-needed distraction to keep me from returning to a deadly habit.  I soon got to know Mark, the owner of the site, and that friendship even further solidified my status as an ex-smoker.  Eventually, I started digging for deals and writing my own content.  And, as they say, the rest is history.

If there’s one thing I can assure you of, it’s this: VAPE.DEALS does not exist simply to turn a profit.  It was founded by an ex-smoker who was compelled to share his excitement with others.  In my case, I’m happy to say that it worked.  Mark has since become a close friend and the role he played in my journey is something I’ll never take for granted.  For the past 5 years, my sole purpose has been to pay it forward.  More than anything, I hope the work I did here mattered to a few people out there.  I never expected a paycheck for this job, all I wanted was to help one person the way Mark (and this site) helped me.

On that note, I encourage you to share this site, as well as your passion for harm reduction, with others.  This industry can change lives and I’m well aware that VAPE.DEALS can be an instrumental part of the process.  Not only that, but the person running the show is one of the most genuine people you’re likely to meet.  He deserves all the success he gets.  And since he’s no longer my boss, you can be assured that I’m not kissing his ass! 😊

In closing, I want to thank all of you…

I receive emails from you guys every week, and I’m not exaggerating when I say that many of them have pulled me out of some very dark places.  Kind words go a long way…but there doesn’t seem to be enough of them to go around nowadays.  It’s easy to love our family and friends, but showing love to a complete stranger, that’s a rarity.  Thank you for that, from the very bottom of my heart.  Thank you for allowing me to have a small part in your lives.

Again, I’m not completely walking away from VAPE.DEALS.  I simply don’t know how to do that at this point.  It’s too important to me.  Things will just be a bit different moving forward.  If you ever need anything, don’t hesitate to contact me.  Now that I’m starting to get misty, it’s probably time to sign off…just know that it won’t be for the last time.
